 
These marvelous animals were first trained in England to hunt fox in the 1600’s as the popularity of hunting boar and stag waned. Introduced into Maryland in the mid-1700’s, foxhounds are considered “slow workers with good voices”.
Foxhound is on the second floor of the Main House with views of the pastureland to the north and east through the four windows. The queen bed with antique headboard shares one end of the room with the in-room sink and commode, but the eye-catching two-person whirlpool tub and brick gas fireplace dominate the other half of the room. The room boasts gold and olive décor and the original oak plank floor with inlaid cherry perimeter edging dates this flooring as a century old.
It’s OK…relax in the comfort of the whirlpool and imagine the foxhounds drawing the coverts (working the brushline) outside your windows. Hear their cries? |
